The first and most important temple built for Gayathri Amman (Gayatri being an aspect of Saraswati and the Universal Mother) in Sri Lanka. Visiting Gayathri Peedam, where Meghanath worshipped Lord Shiva, was a spiritual experience. The Diurumpola Temple, where Seetha Devi underwent the Agni Pariksha, added depth to the historical narrative. Seetha Amman Temple in Seetha Eliya, with its serene environment and Hanuman's footmarks, was truly unique. Ashok Vatika's tranquil garden, where Seetha meditated, was the perfect end to the day. The tour was well-organized, informative, and deeply enriching. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the Ramayana's rich history!
