Located 35 km away from the Kandy city, Balana Pass is one of the very important locations in Sri Lanka history. Kandy stayed independent until the early 19th century and the British launched an invasion to capture Kandy kingdom in 1815. According to historical sources, the British soldiers entered to Kandy city in four directions and “Balana pass” is one of them. You will cycle to Balana pass via tea plantations & scenic mountains to explore this colonial history.
