05.00 A.M - Pick up from your hotel in Dambulla/Sigiriya and driven to Trincomalee. 6.30 AM - During your journey, you'll make a stop at Kanthale to partake in a unique floating boat breakfast, featuring a delectable Sri Lankan menu, on the serene Kanthale Lake. This experience lasts approximately 3 hours and is subject to availability. Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic sight of elephants making their way to the lake for a morning drink, adding an extra touch of magic to your experience. 10.30 AM - You will leave the Kantale & proceed to Trincomalee. 11.30 AM - you will reach to Trincomalee. You will reach to the Pigeon Island. One of the two marine national parks of Sri Lanka. The island gets its name from Blue Rock Pigeon, a native endangered bird who lives within the rocks in these islands. The islands were declared a sanctuary in 1963 for the purpose of protecting these birds. In 2003 this area was upgraded to the status of a National Park and the boundaries were extended to include coral reef around them. The national Park has one of the best remaining coral reefs with the high live coral cover in the country and is an ideal location for scuba diving and snorkeling.
05.30 A.M – Trincomalee stands as a significant global hub for whale-watching. Here, you can witness the majestic blue whales, along with occasional sightings of sperm whales, just six to eight nautical miles east of Trincomalee, accessible by a short 30-minute boat ride. Spinner dolphins are also a common sight. The best time for sightings is typically between April and June, coinciding with the whales' migration from the south coast to the east coast of the island. Departure from Trincomalee shore is scheduled for 6:30 AM, with complimentary mineral water bottles provided onboard. 10.30 AM - Located atop a rocky promontory in Trincomalee, Koneswaram Temple is one of the Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built by Rishi Agastya at the request of Lord Shiva, impressed by King Ravana's devotion, it's unique as a temple constructed for a devotee. Legend has it that Lord Rama sought solace here after defeating Ravana. Following this, you'll visit Kanniya Hot Springs, a renowned hot well complex in Sri Lanka. Consisting of seven wells arranged in a square shape, these shallow wells (3-4 feet deep) boast varying temperatures. Formerly part of a Buddhist monastery, now managed by the Sri Lankan Archaeological department, the springs are believed to have therapeutic properties, offering relief for skin diseases, arthritis, and rheumatism. 3.00 PM - you will drop off to Sigiriya/Dambulla by evening.
