The tour will start in front of the Fort railway station which is one of the busiest railway stations in Sri Lanka. Evening at 4.45 PM. After the briefing of our guide, you will be taking to the first stop of our tour. In this local shop, you will be able to taste the Hoppers, Egg Hoppers with local cuisines and Ceylon Tea. You will be given bottled water here. However, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle.
After saying goodbye to the shop we are entering a busy road which runs to the main street. While squeezing through the people you will be coming to our second stop which Is a hot snack beverage call Porridge (Sawu Kanda).
After Porridge you will be going through the Pettah vegetable market where you can smell fresh vegetables and fruits. From there you are stopping near a gram store where you can select 2 items. From there you are entering the main street (Gas Paha Junction). As soon as you enter, your guide will stop in front of the Old town hall of Colombo. There he will deliver the history of the Old town hall.
After the Old town hall, you will be walking towards the Red Mosque which is one of the iconic building of Pettah. There you will stop at a local sweet house where you can taste Samosa and Faluda.
While carrying your tummy filled with Faluda and Samosa will have a bit of a walk towards Khans’ Clock tower. In front of the Khans’ Clock Tower, you will taste Sri Lankan Pickles Such as Pineapple, Local Olives, Rose Apple, Local Cherry and more.
And from there you will be having a walk while chatting with your local guide asking about his experience and what he is doing in his spare time. And now you will be stopping near the Colombo Harbor and your guide will tell you how important is the Colombo harbor to the world. A few steps away from Colombo harbor you will see Grand Oriental Hotel AKA GOH Which is the first Air-conditioned Hotel in Sri Lanka.
From there you are walking towards President's house and will be entering the Dutch Hospital to loosen away your tiredness with a locally brewed beer. You will spend some time with the locals and enjoy live music.
Make sure to ready your tummy for the Dinner. You will be walking to Galle face green which is one of the famous places in Colombo where people come with their friends and families. While feeling the breeze of Galleface you will see colorful carts filled with different kinds of foods.so why don’t you try local mouthwatering Prawn Crackers with real prawns?
And now the guide will take you to the last-place of our tour to have the dinner. From there you will have Kottu which you cannot find anywhere around the world and Ginger Beer.
