1 Day

Katunayake - Anuradhapura

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport, you will be warmly greeted & welcomed by your very own chauffeur Guide and then driven to visit Sri Munneswaram temple & Manawari Temple (Based on early morning flight to Sri Lanka). Proceed to Anuradhapura. Check in the hotel in Anuradhapura. Spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying hotel facilities. Overnight stay at a hotel in Anuradhapura. Munneswaram Temple - An important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka, which has been in existence at least since 1000 CE, although myths surrounding the temple associate it with the popular Indian epic Ramayana. The temple is one of the ancient Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Shiva in the region. Munishwaram means the first temple for Shiva (Munnu + Easwaran). It is believed that the Shiva Lingam was already here when Lord Rama visited this place. Manavari Temple - Manavari, about 6 km north of Chilaw, is the first place where Lord Rama installed a Lingam, as a remedy to Lord Shiva after committing Brahmincide by killing the King Ravana who was a Brahmin. This Shiva Lingam in Manavari is called Ramalingam because it was made by Lord Rama. There are only two Lingams in the world named after Lord Rama, the other is in Rameswaram in India

Anuradhapura - Trincomalee

Today early morning with packed breakfast, you will be driven to Trincomalee. En route, you will visit Kanniya Hot Water Springs. On arrival in Trincomalee, you will do a city tour including Koneshwaram Temple. Overnight at a hotel in Trincomalee. Kanniya Hot Water Springs - According to King Ravana era It says that King Ravana stuck the earth with his sword in several spots and several fountains sprang from these points. The water was hot and this was the beginning of these hot water springs. Therefore, this is one of the Ramayana Yatra related site as well in Sri Lanka. Trincomalee City Tour - Trincomalee is one of the major sea ports in the world. Fort Fredrick, also known as Trincomalee Fort, Koneswaram Temple, earlier knows as the temple of thousand Pillars and lover’s leap are the major attractions covered in this city tour in addition to fish and vegetable markets. Occupying the neck of a narrow peninsula, Trincomalee Fort (Fort Fredrick) has been a defensively important site for centuries. The Lover's Leap is also located near Koneswaram Temple and gives the viewers a breathtaking and thrilling scenic view. Koneswaram Temple - Koneswaram Temple is located on a rock promontory of Trincomalee. This is one of the Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Shiva. It was built by Rishi Agastya on the instructions of Lord Shiva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place is unique in this respect because the Lord built a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion. Lord Rama is believed to have offered his prayers here to get rid of the malediction of killing Ravana.

3 Day

Trincomalee - Kandy

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kandy. En route visit Ritigala, Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil and a spice garden in Matale (Optional visit to Sigiriya – If this option is selected, some of the other sightseeing activities will not be possible during this day) Reach to Kandy and you will do a city tour. Overnight at a hotel in Kandy. Ritigala - The origin of Ritigala dates back many centuries, with its first historical mention attributed to the legendary era of the Ramayana. According to legend, Ritigala was formed from a patch of forest that Hanuman brought to LankaPura from the Himalayas. (Optional) Sigiriya Rock Fortress - In the 5th century, King Kashyapa domesticated the Lions Rock, by building a palace atop its summit & well designed for its defenses by having ramparts and moats built around it. The Rock itself has its unique identity due to its shape not found anywhere else on the island.

4 Day

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Nuwara Eliya. En route, visit Bhakta Hanuman Temple, Ramboda Falls, Tea factory & tea plantation. On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, you will visit Gayathri Peedam & Seetha Amman Temple. Overnight at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya. Bhakta Hanuman Temple - A temple that has been built as a presiding deity with a five meters tall granite statue of Rama's devoted supporter, Hanuman. Hanuman is believed to have started his search for Seeta in the Baroda hills. The Tamil word for Ramboda - Rampadai means "Rama's force". That’s why Ramboda is believed to be the area where Rama collected his troops (Temple is closed between 12:45hrs to 15:35hrs). Visit Ramboda Falls - Ramboda waterfall is not a single waterfall and it has two stairs. The top of the main road of Ramboda place, there is another waterfall. Most of the tourists dismiss the waterfall and they visit the upside waterfall and go away. It is 109 m (358 ft.) high and has been recommended as the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Tea Factory and Tea Plantation - If you are travelling on a working day, you will never miss the scenery of tea pluckers working in the tea fields, like butterflies in their colorful sarees. Tea had been one of the main exports in Sri Lanka for by-gone decades. On your way, you will see acres & acres of greenery, tea plantations all around. Step into a tea factory and experience the glimpse of the Ceylon tea making process and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea. Gayathri Peedam - The first and most important temple built for Gayathri Amman (Gayatri being an aspect of Saraswati and the Universal Mother) in Sri Lanka. Gayathri Peedam is said to be the place from where King Ravana's son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and worship, before he was granted supernatural powers by the mighty god.

5 Day

Nuwara Eliya - Colombo

After breakfast, you will proceed to visit Seetha Amman Temple. On completion, you will leave for Colombo. Visit Kelaniya Temple & Panchamuga Anjaneyar temple Check in the Hotel in Colombo. Evening, enjoy the Colombo City tour -(Optional). Overnight at a hotel in Colombo on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Seetha Amman Temple - Sri Seetha Amman temple is a unique temple situated in Nuwara Eliya. This is believed to be the place where Seeta lived most of the time of her captivity according to the historical Legend of Ramayana. It is also unique in a way that it is one of the very few temples dedicated to Seeta. The place also has footmarks of the monkey god Hanuman. Kelaniya Temple - The reason Lakshmana crowned Vibhishana in Kelaniya was because Rama had to return to India as he had to continue his self-exile of 14 years to honour the commitment to his father, King Dasarath of Ayodhya. Therefore, Kelaniya Buddhist Temple is also considered as an important site of Ramayana tour of Sri Lanka. Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple - This Kovil is the first Anjaneyar temple in Sri Lanka and the only one on the island dedicated to Lord Hanuman in his Panchamuga form; meaning five faces. And it is said to be the only temple in the world to have a chariot for Anjaneyar. Visitors are advised to wash hands and feet before entering the temple and not to cross hands inside the temple.

6 Day

Colombo - Colombo

Breakfast at the hotel and leave Colombo for departure. As all good things come to an end, you will be safely driven to the airport for your flight back home having sweet memories of the tour with Beyond Escapes!!!👋
